How can I reset my token if I can't login?

If you have lost your Smartphone or Yubikey and are not able to access the AuthAnvil Manager https://FQDN/AuthAnvil/Manager you will need to regain control using the Master Admin Password in the Management Console on the AuthAnvil server.

The Management Console is accessed via PowerShell. This module is located in "C:\Program Files\Scorpion Software\AuthAnvil\AuthAnvilTools".
Note: Always run PowerShell elevated (Run as Administrator).

  1. Open PowerShell elevated (Run as Administrator).
  2. Navigate to the AuthAnvil Tools folder.
    PS C:\Users\Administrator> cd "C:\Program Files\Scorpion Software\AuthAnvil\AuthAnvilTools"
  3. Load the AuthAnvil Management Console.
    PS C:\Program Files\Scorpion Software\AuthAnvil\AuthAnvilTools> .\AuthAnvilManagementConsole.ps1
    Note: If you receive a Security error try the following then retry Step 2.
    PS C:\Program Files\Scorpion Software\AuthAnvil\AuthAnvilTools> Set-ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted
  4. Select [M] Master Admin.
  5. Enter the Master Admin Password.
    Note: Contact support if you do not know this password or need to reset it.
  6. Select (1) Manage Users.
  7. Select (2) Modify User.
  8. Select your 2FA user.
  9. Select (3) Set Temporary Password.
  10. Enter the temporary password then confirm it. 

Once you have set your temporary password then log into the AuthAnvil Manager https://FQDN/AuthAnvil/Manager and complete the SoftToken reset process.
