How do I use the 2FA Management Console?

Installation

The Management Console is installed as part of a standard AuthAnvil Two Factor Auth installation, and is located in the AuthAnvilTools folder (C:\Program Files\Scorpion Software\AuthAnvil\AuthAnvilTools). It does not require you to complete any special installation steps. To install this on your workstation, you simply copy the AuthAnvil Management Console folder to your workstation.

Usage 

  1. Run an elevated PowerShell window (Run As Administrator). Navigate to the folder where the AuthAnvil Management Console is located (C:\Program Files\Scorpion Software\AuthAnvil\AuthAnvilTools by default). Follow https://help.scorpionsoft.com/hc/en-us/articles/218318877 and run the command .\AuthAnvilManagementConsole.ps1.
  2. If you run the console on the AuthAnvil Two Factor Auth server, it will automatically connect to the local AuthAnvil Two Factor Auth Server and allow you to log on as a Site Admin or a Master Admin. If you run the console on a computer that does not have an AuthAnvil Two Factor Auth server installed, it will ask you for the URL of the  AuthAnvil Two Factor Auth server you would like to connect to and allow you to log on as a Site Admin.
  3. Once logged on, the console will allow you to Manage Users, Manage Tokens, View Logs, or Manage Site Settings. 
    Manage Users: Add, delete and modify Standard, Grouped and Proxied users. 
    Manage Tokens: Enable, Disable, Resync and Test Tokens. Note: You cannot add or delete tokens from this console. That functionality is now exclusively in the Anvil Manager. View Logs: View AuthAnvil Two Factor Auth Log Entries, or print them to a file. Manage Site Settings: View and configure the basic site settings: Lockout Threshold, Lockout Duration, Mail Server, From Address and Base URL.

Note: Additional settings are available through the AnvilManager.

Options

The AuthAnvil Management Console can be run with any of the following options:

  1. -remote: The console will prompt the user to put in a remote AuthAnvil Two Factor Auth server address, even if an AuthAnvil Two Factor Auth server is installed on the local machine.
  2. -insecure: The console will allow the user to connect to an AuthAnvil Two Factor Auth server using HTTP, rather than requiring HTTPS.
