Does the AuthAnvil Password Server support HTTPS? (Legacy)

This article applies to AuthAnvil Password Server v1.5 and later.  If you are running AuthAnvil Password Vault v1.1 or earlier we recommend upgrading to the latest version using this upgrade guide: Best Practice for upgrading AuthAnvil Password Management Suite

All AuthAnvil products are able to use HTTP or HTTPS if they are configured correctly.  Basic HTTP configuration is intended for internal testing purposes only, and is not meant to be used for external access.  If being used internally on a local domain, a trusted third party issued SSL certificate is acceptable.

To configure your AuthAnvil Password Server web service URL, see this article.

Note: AuthAnvil Password Sync Agents are able to communicate with the web service using HTTPS in v1.5 and later.
