How to disable authenticode validation in the SSO Portal

Introduction

One of the key capabilities within AuthAnvil SSO is to be able to dynamically load different authentication providers. To protect the system, these auth providers must be properly signed by Scorpion Software with a valid code signing certificate. If you have a system that will not recognize our code signing certificate, you will need to re-install or upgrade your current installation.

You may see an error like the following when attempting to access https://(Your Domain)/SSO/

When attempting to log in via https://(Your Domain/SSO/ you may see the following.

Steps to disable authenticode validation for 2FA v5.5 / SSO v4.5

  1. Backup SSO following this article:https://help.scorpionsoft.com/entries/29734218
    Note: If you are using automatic backups then simply run the Windows Task.
  2. Download the updated installer from  http://storage.scorpionsoft.com/apps/sso/4/7/0/AuthAnvilSSO.exe
  3. Run the installer to upgraded SSO.
  4. Restore SSO using the backup created in Step 1.
  5. Reset IIS.
  6. Test that you can log into the SSO portal.

 

Steps to disable authenticode validation for 2FA v5.0 / SSO v4.0 or older

To resolve this issue upgrade 2FA/SSO to the latest version as this issue is resolved in the current release.

  1. Backup 2FA/SSO using https://help.scorpionsoft.com/entries/26572587
    Note: This will create a *.BUP file and an SSOBackup.SBP. Copy these files to the Desktop.
    Note: If you are using automatic backups then simply run the Windows Task.
  2. Upgrade using this installer http://storage.scorpionsoft.com/apps/2fa/authanvil/5/6/0/AuthAnvilTwoFactorAuth.exe
    Note: this will upgrade both 2FA SSO at the same time.
  3. Reset IIS.
  4. Test logging into the SSO Portal.
