Enabling the AuthAnvil Logon & Password Server integration with Kaseya VSA R9.1 - newer

Note: This integration requires a working AuthAnvil Server. If you are not a current AuthAnvil subscriber please contact for more information about signing up.

To complete this integration you will need the following files from the AuthAnvil Server copied to your Kaseya VSA server.

  1. web.config located in C:\Program Files\Scorpion Software\AuthAnvil Password Server\AAPS\
  2. SyncAgent Setup located in C:\Program Files\Scorpion Software\AuthAnvil Password Server\AAPS\SyncAgent Setup

 Note: These files should be copied to the Root drive of the Kaseya VSA Server. We would recommend using c:\temp\

Configuration of the integration

Log into VSA R9.1

Note: To configure the Password Server integration you must be using Password Server v2.7-newer. Please see this article to upgrade your Password Server.

Select the AuthAnvil Module.



You will be presented with the configuration wizard.


Select 'I would like to configure Two Factor Auth and Password Server'


Select Next. (These are the files you gathered before the configuration wizard was run)


Upload the Password Server web.config by selecting Choose File then Upload File


Verify the Password Server service URL. Once verified you can select Next.

Upload the SyncAgent Setup by selecting Choose File then Upload.



Once uploaded you can select Next.

We will now configure the Two Factor Auth logon requirements.


Note: You can verify the SAS URL by checking the AAWebConfigEditor located in C:\Program Files\Scorpion Software\AuthAnvil\AuthAnvilTools\ on the AuthAnvil server.

Two Factor Auth Server Site ID is "1" by default.

Define a White listed user that will not require Two Factor Authentication.

Note: You can only White list users during the configuration wizard.

Once you have verified the settings by selecting Verify Settings you can select Next.


Selecting Finish will complete the configuration wizard.

You will then be signed out of Kaseya VSA and returned to the logon prompt.



Once you log into Kaseya VSA you can select the AuthAnvil Module 


In the AuthAnvil Module you can choose to enable the Two Factor logon requirement.

White listed users should be entered in the following format. Comma separated with no spaces.

fred,john,james to,,


 IP's can be entered as comma separated with no spaces. IP's will need be entered using CIDR format.



Selecting Save Settings  will log you out of VSA.


If you have enabled Two Factor for the logon you will see the following prompt after entering your Kaseya VSA username / password.
